Recent Snow

This topic is about issues affecting the future of the community. Sometimes when you are fighting the day-to-day issues you can forget to look down the road. I plan to have posts that include “Keeping up with the Joneses,” and Is the Governance of Cascades Working,? Other possible topic areas would be the role of the community in fighting crime, and in supporting our schools , safety on our streets, etc. This category is not so much about what is happening now but what should be happening or at least what you would like to see happen (i.e. you set the policy and course of action for the community).

Just thought I would post a quick thank you to the Cascades HOA for the nice job they did in clearing the streets during these trying times!

Thanks again!

Looks like we are going to have to pay a "special assessment" of $50-$100 each for that good service.

Well isn't that nice.... First time they actually have to do some real plowing and they tack on some extra fees. Funny thing is, they did an OK job for what it was. But as an additional paid service, it wasn't that good of a job. Maybe I am just spoiled by plow drivers back in NY who know how to drive a plow and know that you don't skip an entire night of plowing and then think you can push 24" of snow down the street at once. As an additional paid service they should have driven through at least once every 4 hours or so and not let accumulate so much. Oh well... I am not surprised.

BTW - what is Townhouse I and Townhouse II... I hope I am in Townhouse II

Got the special assessment coupon and explanation in the mail yesterday (4/19) and it is due 5/1...12 days seems like an awful short turnaround period.

Rough count for homes In Potomac Terrace only - 132 x $83.72 each = $11,051.04! You would think that for 11 THOUSAND DOLLARS we would not have been limited to 1 way traffic, we would not have had to shovel out our fire hydrants (thanks Rich), and we would have been able to walk on the common area sidewalks...UGH
